In Mushi-Shi season 1 episode 10, titled "The White Which Lives Within the Ink Stone," viewers are introduced to a young girl named Tanyu who has been tasked with maintaining a collection of ancient and cursed books. These books are said to contain powerful spirits known as "mushi," and Tanyu must take care to ensure that they do not escape.

As Tanyu goes about her work, she comes across a particularly old and unique book known as the "Mountain Sage." This book is said to contain a mushi known as the "Nigori" which has the ability to possess ink and bring to life anything that is drawn with it. Intrigued by the power that this mushi possesses, Tanyu decides to experiment with it and draws a picture of a young girl.

To Tanyu's surprise, the young girl comes to life and begins to interact with her. Tanyu is thrilled at first, but quickly realizes that the Nigori mushi is more powerful than she could have ever imagined. The young girl, now alive, is not able to leave the book and begins to suffer from loneliness and isolation.

As Tanyu tries to figure out what to do, she learns that the Nigori mushi is not only powerful, but also extremely dangerous. It has the ability to possess anything that is drawn with its ink, and can turn even the most innocent drawing into a deadly weapon. Tanyu realizes that she must act quickly to save the young girl and stop the Nigori mushi from causing any more harm.

With the help of Ginko, a wandering mushishi (a person who investigates and deals with mushi-related problems), Tanyu sets out to find a solution. Together, they discover that the Nigori mushi has been trapped within the ink stone for centuries and has developed a deep hatred for the humans who trapped it there. They learn that the only way to stop the Nigori mushi is to destroy the ink stone and release it from its prison.

As Tanyu and Ginko prepare to destroy the ink stone, they are confronted by the young girl who begs them not to destroy the stone and to let her remain alive. Tanyu is torn between her desire to save the young girl and her duty to protect her village from the dangerous Nigori mushi. In the end, Tanyu makes a difficult decision and destroys the ink stone, releasing the Nigori mushi from its prison.

Overall, Mushi-Shi season 1 episode 10 is a haunting and thought-provoking tale about the consequences of playing with powers beyond our understanding. It serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of curiosity and the importance of respecting the natural order of the world. Through the character of Tanyu, viewers are reminded that even with the best intentions, meddling with things beyond our understanding can have disastrous consequences.
