Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners Season 3 Episode 1 Claire & Charlie and Andy & Ian

In this season 3 opener of Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners, we meet two new pairs of cleaners: Claire and Charlie, and Andy and Ian. Claire and Charlie are a duo from Manchester who have both been diagnosed with OCD. They feel most comfortable when their homes are organized and spotless. Meanwhile, Andy and Ian are from Liverpool and share a beautiful, yet cluttered, home. They both work in the creative industry and are constantly battling clutter and an overload of belongings.

We first join Claire and Charlie as they venture down to Sussex to help out a hoarder named Margaret who hasn't been able to let go of anything for over 30 years. The task at hand seems monumental; there are piles of newspapers and magazines that date back to the 60s, endless amounts of crockery and ornaments, and rooms filled with clothes and shoes that haven't been worn in years. Margaret admits that she has a problem and wants to change, but this doesn't necessarily make the process any easier. Claire and Charlie are supportive, patient and understanding as they work tirelessly to get Margaret's home back to a liveable state.

Meanwhile, down in Bristol, Andy and Ian have a challenge of their own. Ian owns an inspirational design store that has become overrun with stock and his home is suffering as a result. His partner Andy is desperate for a more minimal and organized space, but this isn't easy for someone who collects design pieces for a living. As Andy and Ian begin to sort through their belongings, they find that they have a lot of items with sentimental value and struggle to let go. But, with the help of compulsive cleaner Linda, they begin to see the benefits of less is more and the joy of a clear space.

Throughout the episode, we witness the different techniques and methods that the cleaners use to tackle their various challenges. Some are more patient and empathetic, while others are more direct and tough love; all with the same end goal of a clean and organized space. The show strikes a good balance between serious subject matter and light-hearted moments, as we see the cleaners bond with their clients and find humor in the situations they find themselves in.

At the end of the episode, we are left with a sense of satisfaction as we see the before and after shots of the properties that have been transformed. Margaret is overjoyed with her new-found clarity and space, while Andy and Ian can now appreciate their treasured possessions in a cleaner and more organized environment.
