Patria is a gripping portrayal of the violence and trauma that plagued the Basque Country of Spain in the late 20th century, through the eyes of two families divided by the conflict. Episode 4, Txato, Entzun, Pim, Pam, Pum, focuses on the aftermath of a car bombing by ETA, the Basque separatist group, that killed a prominent businessman named Txato. The episode delves deeper into the motivations of the characters on both sides of the conflict, and explores how grief and revenge can spiral out of control.

The episode opens with a funeral for Txato, attended by both his family and members of the Basque community. However, tensions are high as rumors circulate that Txato was actually a member of a secret anti-terrorist group, and that his death may have been ordered by ETA themselves. Txato's widow, Bittori, is consumed with grief and demands answers from the police, who are reluctant to provide any information.

Meanwhile, Joxe Mari, a former ETA member who has recently been released from prison, is struggling to adjust to civilian life. He is haunted by memories of his time in the group and feels out of place in his hometown, where he is treated with suspicion and resentment. His brother Mikel, who is still an active ETA member, tries to convince him to return to the group and continue the fight for Basque independence. However, Joxe Mari is hesitant and afraid of the consequences.

As tensions continue to mount, Bittori receives a threatening letter from someone claiming to be a member of ETA. The letter accuses her of "spitting on the memory of our martyrs" and warns her to leave town. Bittori becomes increasingly paranoid and fearful for her safety, and her family members urge her to take the threat seriously. However, she refuses to give up her home and insists on confronting her attackers.

The episode culminates in a dramatic confrontation between Bittori and a group of teenage boys who have been vandalizing her property. The boys, who are revealed to be affiliated with ETA, taunt and threaten Bittori, telling her that she deserves to suffer because of her husband's supposed betrayal. The scene is tense and terrifying, as it becomes clear that the cycle of violence and vengeance is never-ending.

Overall, Txato, Entzun, Pim, Pam, Pum is a haunting and powerful episode of Patria. It showcases the devastating effects of political violence on a community and the toll it takes on individuals caught in the crossfire. The episode raises important questions about trauma, revenge, and forgiveness, and it leaves the audience with a sense of unease and uncertainty about what the future holds.
