Pokemon the Series: Ruby & Sapphire Season 602 Episode 3 The Winner by a Nosepass

May surprises the group by announcing that she's not interested in winning Gym badges--instead, she wants to become a Pokemon Coordinator and compete in Pokemon Contests! So Ash challenges Roxanne, the Rustboro City Gym Leader, by himself. Roxanne's Geodude makes short work of Ash's Treecko, but Pikachu manages to turn the tables on Geodude by using Thunder to tear up the battlefield so Geodude can't roll straight. Next, Roxanne sends out her Nosepass, and her brilliant strategy almost takes Pikachu down: Nosepass uses Sandstorm to reduce visibility on the battlefield, but even when it can't see, it can still find Pikachu using the powerful electromagnet on its nose! But thanks to some great strategy from Ash, Pikachu draws power from its opponent's Zap Cannon attack and then delivers a crushing Iron Tail. Ash walks away with a Stone Badge--his first Gym badge in the Hoenn region!
