Ep 2. The Guardian's Challenge!
- November 17, 2016
Ash and Pikachu, along with their Alolan friends Mallow, Lana, Sophocles, and Kiawe, have arrived at the Akala Island and immediately head to the Ruins of Life to participate in the Guardian's Challenge. The Guardian's Challenge is a traditional ceremony where the Trainers demonstrate their skills by battling against the spirits of the guardian deities of Alola.
As they are about to begin, Ash is approached by a mysterious masked man named Tapu Koko. Tapu Koko is the guardian deity of Melemele Island and takes a liking to Ash and his Pikachu. He gives Ash a Z-Ring, a special bracelet that allows the Trainer and their Pokémon to unleash powerful Z-Moves.
Once the challenge begins, the Trainers have to battle against a Totem Pokémon, a powerful Pokémon that is protected by other Pokémon known as allies. In this episode, the Totem Pokémon is an Alolan Rattata, but it's not an ordinary Rattata. It's almost twice the size of normal Rattata and its fur has a unique color.
The battle is fierce, and it seems like the Trainers are being overpowered by the Totem Pokémon and its allies. But, with the help of the Z-Moves, the Trainers are able to take the Totem Pokémon down and win the challenge.
After the challenge, Ash and his friends are approached by the island's Kahuna, Olivia. Kahuna Olivia is a strong and skilled Pokémon Trainer who is in charge of protecting the island's grand trial. She invites the Trainers to visit her store, where they can buy items and learn more about the island's culture and traditions.
As they explore the island, Ash and his friends come across a group of mysterious characters who are also participating in the Guardian's Challenge. They are the Team Skull, a gang of mischievous trainers who are causing trouble on the island. The Team Skull seems to be obsessed with stealing Pokémon and causing chaos wherever they go.
Ash and his friends quickly become friends with a young girl named Lillie, who is fascinated by the Pokémon world but is too scared to touch them. They also meet a butler named Hobbes who has a passion for cooking. Hobbes is very impressed by the group's skills and invites them to a special dinner where he will cook a meal made with ingredients that he personally gathered from the island.
As the episode comes to an end, the Trainers continue to explore the beautiful island of Akala. With the help of new friends and their strong Pokémon, they hope to discover new challenges and experience all that Alola has to offer.
