In Primal Survivor season 1 episode 6, titled Deadly Waters, survival expert Hazen Audel is dropped off in the remote Amazon rainforest, an area known for its dangerous waters and deadly predators. Hazen must navigate the treacherous rivers and attempt to catch fish for food, all while avoiding the dangerous caimans and other creatures that lurk beneath the surface.
As he makes his way down the river, Hazen utilizes his knowledge of the local flora and fauna to find food and shelter. He sets up camp on a small island and begins to explore his surroundings. With no modern tools at his disposal, Hazen must rely on his instincts and survival skills to find ways to feed himself.
Hazen's first task is to catch fish. He constructs a fishing line from vines and a hook from a piece of bark. After several failed attempts, he finally catches a small catfish. He prepares the fish by gutting it and cooking it over an open fire. The meal provides much-needed sustenance, but Hazen knows he must catch more fish to survive.
Hazen's next challenge is to navigate the river safely. The rainforest is filled with dangerous currents and waterfalls that can easily capsize his small canoe. He must also avoid the caimans that lurk in the water. Hazen uses his knowledge of the river's patterns to stay safe and continues his journey downstream.
As he travels, Hazen encounters several other challenges. He is forced to cross a narrow log over a rushing stream, and he must navigate a dense thicket of thorns and brambles while avoiding poisonous snakes. Hazen also encounters a large scorpion, which he captures and uses as bait to catch more fish.
Despite the dangers of the Amazon, Hazen manages to survive for several days on his own. He navigates the river and catches plenty of fish for food. However, his journey takes a turn when he encounters a family of river otters. Hazen knows that otters are a good source of protein, but he also knows that they are extremely difficult to catch.
Hazen spends several days tracking the otters and devising a plan to catch them. He constructs a complex trap using sticks and vines and waits for the otters to approach. After several tense moments, Hazen successfully catches one of the otters. He prepares the meat and enjoys a delicious meal before continuing his journey downstream.
Throughout his journey, Hazen is forced to confront his own mortality and test his limits. He experiences the thrill of survival, but also the fear that comes with being alone in a dangerous environment. Ultimately, Hazen's knowledge and skills help him succeed in the face of overwhelming odds, and he emerges from the Amazon rainforest stronger than ever before.
