Five fabulous gay men with expert skills in grooming, fashion, interior design, cooking, and culture are back to give people a complete transformation on the hit Netflix series, Queer Eye. In season 3 episode 7 titled Sloth to Slay, the Fab Five visit Kansas City, Missouri to help a high school band teacher, Joey Greene, who has let his health and appearance deteriorate due to long hours and a busy schedule.
Joey admits that he has become a "sloth" when it comes to self-care and has put others' needs before his own. His home is cluttered, and he has no sense of style beyond wearing oversized t-shirts and sneakers. His friends and family worry about him and hope that the Fab Five can help him regain his confidence and motivation.
The episode kicks off with Bobby Berk, the design expert, and Tan France, the fashion guru, helping Joey revamp his wardrobe and living space. Bobby works on creating a more functional living space for Joey and tries to declutter his home by using creative and inexpensive storage solutions. Meanwhile, Tan helps Joey pick out clothes that suit his body type and personality, and also teaches him how to style himself for any occasion.
Next up is Antoni Porowski, the food and wine expert, who tries to make it easy for Joey to cook healthy meals that are fast and delicious. Antoni also educates Joey on how to make smart food choices and incorporate more fresh fruits and vegetables into his diet.
Jonathan Van Ness, the grooming and self-care expert, helps Joey get a fresh new look with a stylish haircut and some essential grooming tips. Jonathan also talks to Joey about the importance of taking time for oneself, and helps him develop a daily skincare routine that will help him to feel good about himself.
Finally, Karamo Brown, the culture expert, takes Joey outside of his comfort zone and coaches him on how to address personal issues that have been holding him back. Karamo shares his own personal story and encourages Joey to be more open and honest with himself and others.
Over the course of the episode, the Fab Five's efforts pay off, and Joey is transformed from a "sloth" to a "slay" in just a few days. He gains new confidence and a newfound appreciation for himself and what he brings to the table.
Sloth to Slay is an inspiring and heartwarming episode that shows how a little bit of effort and some expert guidance can create a huge impact in people's lives. It's a wonderful reminder that self-care is essential, and that everyone deserves to feel good about themselves. Queer Eye continues to be a powerful and positive show that brings together people from all walks of life and shows the power of transformation.
