Ep 2. On First Dates, Trouble is Essential

In episode 2 of Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, entitled "On First Dates, Trouble is Essential," we follow main character Sakuta as he attempts to navigate the tricky world of dating. The episode starts off with Sakuta being asked out on a date by his classmate Tomoe, who he has had a bit of a crush on. He agrees, but it quickly becomes clear that Tomoe is not exactly what she seems.

Throughout the course of their date, Sakuta discovers that Tomoe is suffering from a strange affliction that causes her to switch bodies with her friend every time her friend falls asleep. This leads to some awkward situations as Sakuta has to navigate spending time with two different people in one body, and trying to figure out which one is the "real" Tomoe.

As the date progresses, Sakuta tries to help Tomoe deal with her affliction by coming up with a plan to keep her friend awake all night. This proves to be easier said than done, and they encounter a number of obstacles along the way.

Meanwhile, Sakuta's little sister Kaede is dealing with her own struggles. After a traumatic experience in middle school, Kaede has become a recluse and is afraid to leave the house. Sakuta is worried about her and tries to find ways to help her overcome her anxiety and start living a normal life again.

As the episode draws to a close, we see Sakuta and Tomoe parting ways on good terms, with a promise to hang out again soon. Sakuta also makes progress with Kaede, convincing her to take a small step outside and breathe in some fresh air. Overall, the episode is a touching exploration of the difficulties of dating and the importance of overcoming your fears.
