Ep 5. All the Lies I Have for You

In Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai season 1 episode 5, titled "All the Lies I Have for You," Sakuta continues to investigate the strange phenomenon affecting Mai, which causes people to forget about her existence whenever she's not in their line of sight. One day, as he's walking home from school, Sakuta encounters a girl named Rio Futaba, who has been absent from school for several months. Rio used to be a popular student, but she became so stressed that she began to experience a similar phenomenon to Mai's, where people started to forget about her.

Rio tells Sakuta that she's been using her computer skills to investigate the Adolescent Syndrome, and she's discovered a pattern where the phenomenon affects people who have been trying to hide something from themselves. In her case, she's been keeping a secret from herself about why she stopped going to school.

As Sakuta tries to help Rio overcome her trauma, he realizes that he has his own secret that he's been keeping from himself. He's been lying to himself about his feelings for Mai, pretending that they're just friends when he's actually in love with her. As he comes to terms with his emotions, Sakuta finally has the courage to confess to Mai how he really feels.

Meanwhile, Kaede, Sakuta's younger sister, is struggling with her own emotional trauma. She's been trying to push herself to be more social and make friends, but she's still haunted by the memories of the bullying she endured in middle school. When she overhears Sakuta confessing to Mai, she becomes overwhelmed with jealousy and runs away from home.

Sakuta realizes that he needs to help his sister confront her past and move on from it, just like he's been helping Mai and Rio. He spends the night searching for Kaede, and eventually finds her on the beach, where they have a heart-to-heart conversation about their feelings.

In the end, Sakuta helps Rio and Kaede overcome their emotional traumas, and he finally confesses his love to Mai. However, the journey is far from over, as Sakuta and his friends continue to face new challenges and mysteries surrounding Adolescent Syndrome.
