Subaru Natsuki is a hikikomori who unexpectedly passes away. Just as suddenly, he wakes up in another world. Slowly but surely, he discovers that he has gained an extraordinary power – the ability to rewind time by death. As he attempts to save the lives of those important to him, he confronts a myriad of difficulties and obstacles.

But Garfiel is not the only obstacle that Subaru must overcome. The Sanctuary itself is a mysterious and dangerous place, full of secrets and hidden dangers. As he explores, Subaru discovers that the Sanctuary is not the idyllic utopia he had always imagined, but something far more sinister.
