In "The Assassins of Rome: Part One," the fifth episode of season one of Roman Mysteries, our young heroes find themselves in the midst of a dangerous political plot. The episode opens with Flavia, Nubia, and Jonathan in the Forum, where they witness the assassination of a high-ranking Roman official. As they try to make sense of what they've seen, they are approached by a mysterious man who claims to know the identity of the killer.
The man leads them to a secret meeting of the Assassins, a group dedicated to overthrowing the emperor. The Assassins are planning a major attack on the Palace, and they need the children's help to pull it off. At first, Flavia is hesitant to get involved, but she soon realizes that the Assassins may be the only hope for ending the corruption and injustice that have plagued Rome for too long.
As Part One of the episode comes to a close, the children are faced with a difficult choice. Should they throw their lot in with the Assassins, and risk everything to help them carry out their plan? Or should they report what they know to the authorities, and hope that justice will be served in a more traditional manner?
Throughout the episode, viewers are treated to some stunning vistas of ancient Rome, as well as some excellent performances from the show's young cast. There are also some tense action sequences, including a thrilling chase through the city's winding streets. Overall, "The Assassins of Rome: Part One" is a gripping episode that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
