When Liz Ortecho returns to her hometown of Roswell, New Mexico after a decade away, she quickly discovers that the small town is hiding big secrets, particularly in regards to the aliens that supposedly crashed in Roswell in 1947. In the third episode of the series, "Tearin' Up My Heart," Liz (played by Jeanine Mason) continues to investigate the mysterious death of her sister Rosa and her connection to the aliens, while also trying to reconcile with her high school ex-boyfriend, Max Evans (played by Nathan Parsons), who she discovers is an alien.
As Liz navigates her complicated feelings for Max and deals with her own guilt over Rosa's death, she also becomes increasingly obsessed with uncovering the truth.
