Marie and Robert have been living in their home for over 25 years, but the space is outdated and cramped. Marie suffers from a chronic illness, so it’s important for her to have a functional and accessible home. The couple has a $100,000 budget to create their dream space, but they’re not entirely sure what they want.
When contractors Sebastian and Sabrina enter the home, they notice right away that the space is very disjointed. The kitchen is small and outdated, with a tiny island that doesn’t provide enough counter space. The living room is dark and cluttered, with a bulky fireplace that takes up a lot of room.
Sebastian and Sabrina sit down with Marie and Robert to discuss what they want from their renovation. Marie is eager to have a more accessible home and wants to ensure that everything is on the main level so that she doesn’t have to climb any stairs. Robert is focused on having plenty of storage and a more modern aesthetic.
The renovation begins with a complete overhaul of the kitchen. Sebastian and Sabrina remove a wall to open up the space and install a large island with plenty of storage. They also add a coffee bar and wine fridge for Marie and Robert to enjoy. The team installs new appliances and a beautiful tile backsplash, giving the kitchen a much-needed facelift.
Next, Sebastian and Sabrina turn their attention to the living room. They remove the old fireplace and install a more modern gas fireplace that takes up less space. They also add built-in storage on either side of the fireplace, providing space for Marie and Robert to store their belongings. The team also replaces the old carpet with beautiful hardwood floors and installs new lighting fixtures to brighten up the space.
In the master bedroom, Sebastian and Sabrina focus on creating a more accessible space for Marie. They install a new walk-in closet with plenty of storage, as well as a new ensuite bathroom with a large shower and grab bars. The team also updates the bedroom with new lighting and paint, giving the space a fresh new look.
Throughout the renovation, Sebastian and Sabrina work closely with Marie and Robert to make sure that their needs are met. They install a ramp at the front entrance to make it easier for Marie to enter and exit the home, and they also add new lighting throughout the house to make it easier for her to see.
The end result is a beautiful and functional home that Marie and Robert can enjoy for years to come. The open concept kitchen provides ample space for entertaining, while the updated living room is perfect for relaxing and spending time with family. The master suite is now an accessible and comfortable retreat for Marie, and the entire home has a modern and cohesive aesthetic. All in all, it’s a successful renovation that meets Marie and Robert’s needs and exceeds their expectations.
