In season 3 episode 3 of Secret Eaters, we meet Kelli and Tracey, two best friends who are concerned about their expanding waistlines. They both feel like they're eating healthily and sticking to a reasonable amount of calories, but their weight just keeps creeping up.

To figure out what's going on, the Secret Eaters team sets up hidden cameras in Kelli and Tracey's homes, as well as tracking devices to monitor their activity levels. What they discover is shocking - despite their claims of healthy eating habits, Kelli and Tracey are actually consuming far more calories than they realize.

For example, Kelli loves to snack on nuts and avocados, thinking they're healthy choices - but she's often eating several servings in a sitting, packing on the calories without realizing it. Tracey, meanwhile, is a big fan of protein bars, but the ones she's eating are loaded with added sugars and other unhealthy ingredients.

The team also follows the women when they go out to eat, and again, what they find is eye-opening. Kelli and Tracey both order salads when they're at a restaurant, thinking it's the healthiest choice - but they often add heavy dressings, cheese, and croutons that make the dish just as calorie-dense as a burger or pasta dish.

Overall, Kelli and Tracey are eating far more than they think they are, and that's reflected in their expanding waistlines. The team works with them to develop healthier habits and more realistic expectations about what constitutes a healthy meal or snack.

By the end of the episode, Kelli and Tracey have both lost weight and are feeling much better about their eating habits. They've learned that small changes add up over time, and that it's important to be aware of everything going into their bodies - not just the obvious calorie bombs like pizza or ice cream.

As with all episodes of Secret Eaters, the focus is on educating viewers about healthy eating habits and dispelling common myths about what constitutes a healthy diet. Whether you're struggling to lose weight or just interested in learning more about nutrition, this show is definitely worth a watch.
