Ep 1. They Caught Cacau

Rita and Doni are two childhood friends who grew up in the same favela, or slum, in São Paulo, Brazil. Rita is studious and wants to make something of herself, while Doni dreams of becoming a famous funk singer. The two reconnect after Rita returns from a summer away and Doni is released from jail.

Meanwhile, a drug war is brewing in the favela, and a gangster known as King is gaining power. Doni's friend, Cacau, is selling drugs for King and getting in over his head. When a group of rival gangsters catches Cacau, Rita and Doni must figure out how to save him before it's too late.
