In SpongeBob SquarePants: The Fine Arts Collection season 1 episode 9, The Googly Artiste, SpongeBob decides to pursue a career as a famous painter in Bikini Bottom after realizing that his artistic skills are worthy of acknowledgment. The episode begins with Squidward showcasing his artwork in an art gallery and SpongeBob admiring his work, but feeling a bit intimidated and inferior.

As he walks home, SpongeBob notices an ad for the Bikini Bottom Art Museum, where various artworks are displayed, including some that look like they were created from random, googly eyes pasted on a canvas. SpongeBob is not amused and considers them as "nonsense art."

The next day, SpongeBob discovers a giant boulder blocking his way to the Krusty Krab. In a burst of creativity, SpongeBob decides to turn the boulder into a masterpiece by painting it. He spends the day creating his masterpiece using all kinds of paint and some of Squidward's paint brushes, but in the end, he realizes that the boulder is just a boulder and not a masterpiece.

Determined to become a famous artist, SpongeBob decides to create "nonsense art" using googly eyes, claiming that it is the latest trend in the art world. Initially, his friends and customers find his artwork strange and weird, but eventually, everyone starts to appreciate his "nonsense art" after going to the Bikini Bottom Art Museum and see that Mr. Krabs's daughter Pearl has created a similar piece of artwork.

SpongeBob soon becomes the talk of the town and patrons flock to the Krusty Krab to purchase SpongeBob's "nonsense art." Squidward is enraged by SpongeBob's sudden success and decides to create his own piece of "nonsense art" but to no avail.

In the end, SpongeBob realizes that his art was indeed "nonsense," and he never intended it to be taken seriously. He decides to donate his paintings to the Bikini Bottom Art Museum as he believes that everyone deserves a chance to appreciate art, even "nonsense art." The episode ends on a positive note, with Squidward admiring SpongeBob's magnanimity and SpongeBob feeling content with the fact that he was able to bring something positive into the world.

Overall, The Googly Artiste is a lighthearted episode that focuses on SpongeBob's creative side and his desire to be recognized as a great artist. The episode beautifully showcases how art can be interpreted in various ways, and how even "nonsense art" has its own charm and appeal.
