Hank Dolworth (Donald Logue) is an ex-cop and recovering alcoholic. His best friend Britt Pollock (Michael Raymond Jones) is an ex-thief, and together they run a low rent detective agency in the Southern California town of Ocean Beach. In between investigations, the two men try to sort out their increasingly chaotic personal lives. Dolworth is still in love with his ex-wife Gretchen (Kimberly Quinn), and has been drifting through life ever since his divorce. Meanwhile Pollock is having trouble committing to his girlfriend, Katie (Laura Allen) and when she mentions wanting children has to decide whether he is ready for the next step. When a seemingly simple missing persons case turns out to have much wider repercussions, the two friends are thrown into a situation in which they begin making powerful enemies. The question is whether they will be any better at making professional decisions than they are at emotional ones. The show was created by Ted Griffin, and consists of a single season containing 13 episodes.
