Ep 2. Rose Colored Glasses

In The Bold Type season 2 episode 2, titled "Rose Colored Glasses," the three young women continue to navigate the complexities of their personal and professional lives at the women's magazine Scarlet.

As the episode opens, Jane is excited to be assigned a big story about the state of healthcare for women in America. She's less thrilled, however, when her editor Jacqueline reveals that she wants Jane to write an opinion piece, rather than just reporting the facts. Jane struggles to strike the right tone as she grapples with her own opinion on the issue and worries about how it will be received by readers.

Meanwhile, Sutton is still trying to balance her new job as an assistant to a high-powered fashion executive with her career aspirations and her relationship with her boyfriend Richard. When Richard invites her to attend a charity event with him, Sutton is torn between wanting to support him and feeling like she needs to focus on her work responsibilities.

And finally, Kat is still exploring her sexuality and wondering if her newfound attraction to women means she's not really happy in her longtime relationship with her boyfriend Adena. She seeks advice from Jacqueline and from Adena herself, but ultimately has to make the decision about what she wants on her own.

Throughout the episode, the three friends support each other, challenge each other, and try to figure out how to be true to themselves while also succeeding in their careers and relationships. Along the way, they confront issues like identity, privilege, and authenticity in both their personal and professional lives. And although they each face different challenges, they ultimately learn that they are stronger together than they are alone.
