The Courtship Of Eddie's Father Season 2 Episode 24 Discipline Is A Four Letter Word Spelled Love

Tom Corbett spanks Eddie for the first time when the child's continued disregard of home safety rules twice endangers his life. First, Eddie disobeys the orders of his father and Mrs. Livingston to not use his chemistry set on the rug. An experiment by Eddie damages the rug, resulting in an expensive rug cleaning. Next, Mrs. Livingston pulls Eddie back from the top of the balcony railing of their 17th-story apartment when Eddie mounts a chair to get a better look at a passing parade. The frightened Mrs. Livingston is disappointed when Tom fails to criticize his son. Finally, Tom observes Eddie leaning over the rail to get a kite, and Tom, terribly frightened, spanks Eddie after grabbing him off the perilous perch. Angrily, Eddie runs to his room, but emerges later and apologizes, admitting he was wrong.
