Detective Logan O'Connor, a crossword puzzle aficionado, is brought in to solve a new mystery in The Crossword Mysteries season 1 episode 2 entitled "Proposing Murder."

The episode starts with a happy couple, Phoebe and Winston, getting engaged at a surprise party thrown by their friends. The celebration is short-lived, however, when the couple's good friend, Graham, collapses and dies suddenly during the proposal.

Logan is brought in to investigate and quickly discovers that Graham was poisoned with cyanide-laced champagne. As he begins questioning the guests, he uncovers a web of secrets and lies.

Phoebe admits that she had been having an affair with Graham and that he had threatened to reveal it to Winston. However, she claims she did not poison him and has no idea who would have wanted to kill him.

Logan also learns that the victim was researching a book on rare coins and had recently discovered a valuable collection that had been stolen. Could someone have killed him to keep the location of the coins a secret?

Suspicions continue to rise when the party planner, who was known to argue with Graham over party details, reveals that she had also been having an affair with him.

As Logan and his partner, Tess, continue to gather clues, they discover that someone had swapped Graham's heart medication with pills containing cyanide. But who would have had access to his medication, and why?

The investigation takes an unexpected turn when Winston's business partner, who had been recently fired, is found dead in his office. Was this a coincidence or part of a larger conspiracy?

With the help of his crossword puzzle-solving skills, Logan finally pieces together the clues and solves the case, leading to a surprising and dramatic conclusion.

Overall, "Proposing Murder" is a gripping episode that keeps viewers guessing until the very end. With strong performances from the cast and an intriguing plot, it's a must-watch for fans of murder mysteries and detective dramas.
