One of the least known departments of the United States Postal Service is given a closer look in the television series Signed, Sealed, Delivered. The show focuses on a small team of postal workers assigned to the Dead Letter Department of Denver, Colorado. Old letters, often years old, are brought to the post office. The task of the employees is to read the letters and attempt to trace any persons mentioned in the correspondence, in order that they may be delivered to their intended recipients. Most of the characters have quirky personalities that contribute a lighthearted tone to the more dramatic plots, which often involve the protagonists trying to help the people they meet. The stories of each episode focus on one particular piece of mail, but there are secondary plots that weave a continuous narrative throughout. Though there is some romantic tension in certain episodes, there is no bad language or edgy material, so the show is appropriate to watch with the whole family.
