In "Take My Cousin -- Please," the fourth season's eleventh episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Will's cousin Stacey arrives unexpectedly at the Banks family's home. Stacey wants to be a comedian, but his jokes are terrible, and he seems to lack the talent, drive, and enthusiasm necessary to succeed in the entertainment industry. Despite these obvious shortcomings, Will is determined to help Stacey succeed, and so he convinces Uncle Phil to let Stacey perform at the Peacock Stop, the comedy club where Will works as a busboy.

Feeling confident in his cousin's comedic abilities, Will dresses up as Stacey's manager and attempts to convince the club's owner to give Stacey a chance on stage. However, after Stacey's terrible performance, Will quickly realizes that his cousin is not cut out for comedy and that he needs to come clean about his ruse and find a new career path for Stacey.

Meanwhile, Carlton and Ashley both participate in a charity-auction where they bid on people to do a good deed for them. Carlton hopes to win a date with Cindy Crawford, while Ashley hopes to persuade a famous singer to attend her school's winter dance. Despite putting up a valiant effort, Carlton fails to win the date, and Ashley also faces rejection when her chosen celebrity decides not to attend the dance.

"The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" was one of the most popular sitcoms of the 1990s, with the likeable Will Smith as its central character. The show was known for its comedic hijinks, goofy characters, and heartwarming messages about family and friendship. "Take My Cousin -- Please" is a perfect example of the show's lighthearted and upbeat tone, as the Banks family attempts to help Stacey achieve his dream of becoming a comedian while also dealing with their own personal struggles. Carlton's obsession with Cindy Crawford and Ashley's desire to impress her classmates are both humorous subplots that add to the episode's overall fun and engaging atmosphere.

One of the standout elements of the show was its cast, which featured several memorable characters. Will Smith's performance as the charming and carefree Will was the focal point of the show, and his onscreen chemistry with Uncle Phil (played by James Avery) was a particular highlight. The show also featured several other beloved characters, including Carlton (Alfonso Ribeiro), Ashley (Tatyana Ali), and Hilary (Karyn Parsons), all of whom had their own distinct personalities and quirks.
