Ep 2. Getting to Know You

Ben, an 11-year-old boy with social anxiety disorder, is in his second week of middle school, and he's struggling to make friends. He's been paired with a therapy dog named Dude, who helps him feel more comfortable in social situations. In episode 2, titled "Getting to Know You," Ben's parents encourage him to attend a school dance, but he's not sure he's ready for it.

Meanwhile, Dude is feeling a bit neglected because Ben is spending more time with his human friends and less time with him. Ben realizes that he needs to spend more time with Dude, and so he decides to take him to the dog park. However, Ben panics when he sees a group of older boys at the park, and he becomes afraid that they'll make fun of him.

As Ben tries to overcome his fear, he realizes that he's not alone. He sees other kids who are just as nervous as he is, and he starts to feel more comfortable. Dude helps by encouraging Ben to speak to other kids. When Ben finally works up the courage to say hello to a girl named Amara, he makes a new friend. Amara is also nervous, and together, they help each other feel less alone.

Back at home, Ben's parents are worried about him. They're not sure if they're doing the right thing by pushing him to be more social. Ben's mom talks to Dude's trainer, who assures her that it's important for Ben to take risks and face his fears, but also that he shouldn't be forced into situations that are too overwhelming for him.

Ultimately, Ben decides to go to the school dance. With Dude by his side, he feels more confident, and he even works up the courage to dance with Amara. It's a small victory, but it's a significant one for Ben. He's starting to see that he's capable of handling social situations and making new friends.

The episode ends with Ben and Dude cuddled up on the couch, watching TV. Ben's parents come in and see the two of them together, and they realize how much Dude has meant to Ben. They're grateful for the therapy dog's help, and they're hopeful that he'll continue to make a positive impact on Ben's life.
