As much as we all would like to think that everyone has been lucky enough to find their happily ever after, the truth is that life is messy and can be filled with loose ends that need to be tied up. That is certainly the case in The L Word: Generation Q season 1 episode 6, aptly titled "Loose Ends."

One particularly powerful storyline in this episode focuses on Micah and Jose. Throughout the season, we have seen these two men navigate the tricky waters of their new relationship, and it seems as though they might be heading towards becoming official. However, as the episode progresses, we see that there are still a few loose ends to be tied up for Micah. Specifically, he has not yet come out to his mother, who is in town visiting for the weekend.

Meanwhile, Sarah and Sophie continue to face challenges in their own relationship. In this episode, their differences come to a head as they confront the issue of marriage. While Sophie has always been vocal about her desire to take the next step and tie the knot, Sarah is hesitant, citing the high likelihood of things not working out and ending in divorce. As the two of them argue, we see the titular loose ends of their relationship begin to fray, and it becomes unclear whether they will be able to find a way to hold everything together.

Things aren't going much better for Bette either. As she deals with the fallout of her recent scandal, she begins to realize that she may have made some serious mistakes in the past. Specifically, she starts to think back on her relationship with Tina, which ended in divorce years ago. As she looks back on their time together, she begins to think that perhaps she pushed Tina away too quickly and too harshly - and that maybe there is still something there worth exploring.

Of course, it wouldn't be The L Word without a healthy dose of drama, and this episode certainly delivers on that front as well. One highly-anticipated scene in particular centers around Alice and her infamous talk show, which has been causing controversy all season long. In this episode, she invites a group of right-wing pundits onto her show for a debate on LGBT issues - and needless to say, things quickly get heated.

Overall, "Loose Ends" is an episode that is about exactly what it sounds like: tying up all of those little threads that have been left dangling over the course of the season. As the characters begin to take stock of their lives and relationships, they are forced to confront some uncomfortable truths and make some tough decisions. It's a reminder that, no matter how perfect things might seem on the surface, there are always going to be loose ends that need to be taken care of.
