The Mighty Heroes is an animated television series produced by Ralph Bakshi and distributed by CBS during the 1966-1967 season. The series stars Herschel Bernardi as the narrator and the voice of Diaper Man, one of the titular heroes. The Mighty Heroes consists of four superheroes who have banded together to defend their city from all manner of threats. Diaper Man, the leader of the group, is a superhero who wears a giant diaper and has the ability to fly. Strong Man is a muscular hero who can lift heavy objects and break through solid walls. Cuckoo Man is a magical creature who can bend reality to his will in strange and unpredictable ways. And Tornadoman is a weather-powered hero who can create powerful tornadoes to sweep away his enemies.

The show follows the Mighty Heroes as they battle a range of villains and monsters, often with humorous results. Among their foes are evil robots, giant monsters, and even a musical theatre troupe that turns out to be a front for a criminal enterprise.

Despite the show's simple premise, The Mighty Heroes was well-received by audiences of all ages. The series is known for its colorful animation and lively music, as well as its quirky sense of humor. The show's characters have become iconic in their own right, and have even appeared in other media such as comic books and video games.

One of the key strengths of The Mighty Heroes is its voice cast. Herschel Bernardi brings a sense of gravitas to his role as the narrator, while also portraying Diaper Man with a sense of earnestness that makes the character endearing rather than ridiculous. The rest of the cast is equally talented, with strong performances from Paul Frees as Strong Man, Herschel Bernardi as Diaper Man, and Jane Webb as Cuckoo Man and Tornadoman.

Another standout feature of the show is its animation style. The Mighty Heroes is animated in a style that is reminiscent of classic comic books, with bold lines and bright colors that pop off the screen. The show's action sequences are fluid and dynamic, with a lively energy that keeps the audience engaged.

Overall, The Mighty Heroes is a fun and entertaining show that has stood the test of time. While it may not have the same level of cultural significance as some of its contemporaries, the show remains beloved by fans of all ages for its colorful characters, exciting action, and sense of humor.
