Sherman Exchange Program is the tenth episode of the second season of The Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show. In this episode, the duo will be shaking things up a bit by going on an exchange program. Sherman will be sent to another family while Peabody takes care of a kid from a different family. Lots of antics await the beloved characters in this fun-filled episode.
The episode kicks off as Mr. Peabody teaches Sherman about the importance of the cultural exchange program. Peabody tells Sherman that it's important to learn about other cultures and allow other people to learn about their culture as well. Sherman is excited about the prospect of learning a new culture but becomes worried about leaving Peabody alone with another kid.
As the exchange program kicks off, Sherman heads to his new home with the Robinsons. Mr. Robinson, a scientist, is thrilled to have Sherman over and promises to teach him a lot about science. On the other hand, Mrs. Robinson, a budding artist, suits Sherman up in an apron and sets him up with a canvas and paint.
While Sherman is enjoying his time with the Robinsons, Peabody is having a hard time taking care of the Robinson's son, a boy named Sam who is energetic and adventurous. Peabody soon realizes that Sam is a handful and will require a lot of patience. Sam is always trying to get into trouble and Peabody has to use his wits to prevent him from doing so.
Meanwhile, Sherman is adjusting to life with the Robinsons. He's quickly impressed by Mr. Robinson's knowledge of science and all the cool gadgets he has at his laboratory. Sherman gets to experience a lot of fun scientific experiments, which he thinks Peabody would have enjoyed too.
Mrs. Robinson also takes Sherman to the art studio where she's working on a sculpture. She takes Sherman in as her apprentice and teaches him some of the basics of sculpting. Sherman is impressed by how much skill and patience it takes to make sculptures, and he's determined to make something of his own.
As the episode progresses, Sherman begins to miss Peabody and decides to talk to him through the intercom system. Sherman shares all the fun activities he's been doing with the Robinsons and how much he's learned. Peabody, on the other hand, is having a hard time dealing with Sam. Sam refuses to take a bath or brush his teeth and Peabody has to come up with creative ways to convince him to do so.
As days go by, Sherman and Peabody both learn so much about the culture and traditions of their new families. They also learn to appreciate each other more. Sherman is happy to meet new people and learn new things, but he also realizes how much he misses being with Peabody. Peabody, on the other hand, realizes how much work it takes to take care of a wild and energetic kid like Sam.
Towards the end of the episode, Sherman returns home to Peabody, and they recount all the experiences they have had. They share the lessons they have learned from their exchange program and also learn a lot from each other. They both agree that while it's important to learn about other cultures, it's also important to appreciate the people you have in your life and the culture you come from. They end the episode on a happy and content note.
