26. The Wedding

February 27, 1993

Bella and Caroline return from six weeks holiday in preparation for Caroline's wedding to Doctor Austin. Bella expects that everything is now going to be perfect, but she realises as soon as she is back that things have changed.

25. Captured

February 20, 1993

Everyone is furious with the children for taking the law into their own hands. Sgt Pickles intimates that they may face charges for dealing with stolen property and it may mean the reformatory for Bella.

24. The Exchange

February 13, 1993

The Children are in conflict over Bella's decision to give Weeks the gold. Bella's concern is seeing Beauty back safely and is determined to go ahead with the exchange. She'll take the gold to Crossroads at noon and Weeks will give her back Beauty.

23. Held to Ransom

February 6, 1993

The children are now in possession of four gold nuggets and they don't know what to do with them. Sgt Pickles has gone away and Frank has told inspector Buckingham that to tell everyone else of their discovery would ruin the chances of finding the thief.

22. The Petition

January 30, 1993

Bella has made her decision that she doesn't want to go to England. The Doctor will allow her to stay at the farm as long as she talks it over with her Aunt and that Caroline agrees with the decision. They decide to go and find Caroline.

21. Sweet Reward

January 23, 1993

Walter and Bella try once more to open the tin box, but realize that it will have to be cut open when Walter has more time. While this is happening in the stables, Connie tries to distract the Doctor by telling him about a new puppy.

20. Bella's Dilemma

January 16, 1993

Although Frank as written an article in the Bugle saying that nothing was found from the Astoria ship wreck, Potch and Weeks ransack the Austin farm stables in the hopes of finding the fold. Bella, Frank, Ted and Connie discuss their next move.

19. Eureka!

January 9, 1993

Ted has narrowed down the area where he thinks the gold is, but the children realise they will need a boat to continue their search. Ted knows where there is an old deserted boat, and they decide to fix it up.

18. The Fair

January 2, 1993

Bella is confused about the decision she has to make about going to England with her Aunt Caroline. Caroline has told Bella that they may live in London and Paris and Bella is horrified to learn that Beauty would not be able to go with her.

17. Bella Remembers

December 26, 1992

Aunt Caroline's Arrival has thrown the household into confusion. She describes to Bella how she has spent months searching for her, finding her in the end by reading an article written by Frank about the ship wreck.

16. The Arrival

December 19, 1992

The Doctor is getting close to signing Bella's custody papers, when Walter tells him that something is getting through the fences at the farm, he believes its a good opportunity for Bella, Connie and Ted to stay at the farm to help Walter.

15. Gold Fever

December 12, 1992

Just as Bella and the Children are on to the fact that Mr. Cigar must be a gold thief, Bella comes down with the Chicken Pox and is confined to bed with no visitors. Frank Causes chaos in Yarrandilly by printing an article.

December 5, 1992

Bella is under strict instructions to behave herself, but talks the Doctor into letting her go for a ride on Beauty. Whilst she is in Yarrandilly, she meets Celia Osborne, the daughter of the local vet.

13. Haunted House

November 28, 1992

The Doctor asks Mrs. Mac to spend the night with an ailing Mrs. Crutchfield. Mrs. Mac is reluctant to go because she believes the house to be haunted. Bella offers to go with her to keep her company. During the evening Mrs. Crutchfield dies.

12. Trespasser

November 21, 1992

Bella receives a small parcel from the Orphanage containing her possessions - family photos, a cameo and her father's death certificate. Frank has overheard a conversation between two sailors who are the crew from Week's boat.

11. The Detectives

November 14, 1992

Bella, Connie and Ted have news for Frank. Bella has remembered that Mr. Cigar was on the Astoria. Frank realises that the first thing they must do is investigate the cargo list from the Astoria to determine what he may have wanted that was on the boat.

10. Imposter

November 7, 1992

Bella, Ted and Connie are waiting for Frank at their first meeting of detectives. When Frank is inexplicably late, Ted has an idea that he may have been caught up in a local trap - the Bog! They find him waist deep, and Beauty helps them pull him out.

October 31, 1992

Everyone is excited by the discovery of the barrel lid. It not only proves that the Astoria was wrecked somewhere nearby, but gives Bella's story some validity. She asks Frank not to print the story in the Bugle, as she has already caused so much trouble.

8. The Search

October 24, 1992

Dr. Austin reads Bella the letter which demands that she return to the Orphanage as soon as possible. Bella is upset and can't understand why no-one will listen to what she wants to do. No-one believes Frank's article about the ship-wrecked Astoria.

7. Daylight Robbery

October 17, 1992

Bella convinces Doctor Austin to allow her to sit for the Entrance Tests to the Willstown Grammer School along with Ted. Ted is horrified by the idea that someone may actually want to do the tests.

6. Accident

October 10, 1992

Frank as a committed newspaper man, has printed a story in the Yarrandilly Bugle about Bella being the sole survivor of the Astoria shipwreck. Dr. Austin is furious that he has found out Bella's past by reading the local newspaper.

5. Horse Thief

October 3, 1992

Ted hears from a visiting horse dealer that his champion black horse has been stolen, he thinks this provides him with an opportunity to get rid of Bella once and for all. With no proof that Bella owns Black Beauty, he feels obliged to impound Beauty.

4. The Runaway

September 26, 1992

Ted discovers that Bella has run away. He accuses her of stealing food, however Bella has left her reward money as payment for the bread and cheese she took for her travels.

3. Gymkhana

September 19, 1992

Ted has been practicing for sometime for the local Gymkhana, where he is determined to come first in the Flag and Barrel Race. He is horrified when Bella decides to enter the competition on Black Beauty. Weeks discovers that the Astoria has sunk.

2. Recovery

September 12, 1992

Isabella Barrett has found herself being cared for at Doctor Austin's farm, not remembering who she is or what has happened to her. The only thing she knows for certain is that Black Beauty is hers. The Doctor decides to take Bella to the authorities.

13 year old runaway, Isabella Barrett, has been captured by the police and taken back to an orphanage.Isabella decides to runaway again. Escaping during the night, she hides in a barrel which is loaded onto a boat called the Astoria.
