At the start of the episode, Tony is still struggling to adjust to his new job and is questioning whether he has what it takes to handle the pressure of being an emergency responder. However, his doubts are put to the test when he and his partner, Chris, respond to a call about a man threatening to jump off a bridge.
Tony and Chris arrive at the scene and try to talk the man down, but he is unresponsive and continues to inch closer to the edge of the bridge. As Tony starts to panic, Chris keeps a level head and ultimately manages to connect with the man and talk him off the ledge.
Meanwhile, other members of the team are dealing with their own emergencies. Dez, a seasoned responder, is called to assist a woman who has fallen down the stairs and is badly injured. She works quickly to assess the woman's injuries and get her to the hospital, all while dealing with an overbearing family member who is in the way.
Elsewhere, McDowell, the team leader, receives a call about a missing child. He and his team scour the city looking for the little girl, but their search proves fruitless. Just as they are about to give up hope, McDowell has an idea that leads them to the missing child and reunites her with her grateful parents.
