Una Familia de Diez is a popular Mexican sitcom that follows the comical lives of a large, chaotic family living under one roof. In season 1 episode 21, titled "Mala suerte," the family continues to deal with the aftermath of their house being destroyed.
As the episode begins, the family is still living in a cramped apartment while their home is being rebuilt. Everyone is feeling frustrated and on edge, but things take a turn for the worse when a series of unfortunate events begin to occur. The family starts to believe that they are cursed with bad luck and they go to great lengths to try and rid themselves of it.
The patriarch of the family, Don Plácido, is especially affected by the bad luck. He is convinced that he is going to die soon and starts to make arrangements for his funeral. His wife, Martina, is annoyed by his morbid behavior and tries to snap him out of it, to no avail.
Meanwhile, the rest of the family is dealing with their own problems. Tono, one of the sons, is struggling to pass his driving test and keeps failing over and over again. Martina's sister, La Nena, is dealing with a cheating boyfriend and is trying to decide whether or not to break up with him.
As the family continues to face bad luck, they start to suspect that their neighbor, Doña Lucha, is involved. She has always been a bit of a troublemaker and they believe that she has put a curse on them. They confront her and demand that she remove the curse, but she denies having anything to do with it.
In the end, the family discovers that the bad luck was just a series of coincidences and that they were never actually cursed. They all breathe a sigh of relief and go back to their regular lives.
"Mala suerte" is a hilarious and lighthearted episode that showcases the zany and colorful characters of Una Familia de Diez. It's a great addition to the first season of the show and leaves audiences wanting more.
