Ep 1. Omaha

It's been a long time since we last saw Selina Meyer in the Oval Office, but the show Veep is finally back with season 6. In the first episode, titled "Omaha," we find Selina living life as a private citizen, trying to adjust to her new normal. But as anyone who knows Selina would expect, she's having a tough time settling down.

The show picks up one year after Selina lost the presidency to Laura Montez, and we see her struggling to find her place in the world. Selina is struggling with her political legacy, constantly being reminded of her time in office by people who approach her on the streets. She's even been in talks with a presidential library to try to cement her place in history.

Meanwhile, her former chief of staff, Gary, is trying to get her to take advantage of her newfound free time and live a little. Gary's attempts to get Selina to relax end up being hilarious, as the two try to find some fun activities to do in Omaha, Nebraska.

Despite Selina's attempts to move on from politics, she can't seem to escape it. During a meeting with her staff, she learns about an opportunity to speak at a conference in Des Moines, Iowa, and the thought of public speaking gets her excited.

Selina's decision to attend the conference sets the stage for the rest of the episode, as we see her wrestling with her reputation and her desire to get back into the political game. And when she learns that her former rival, Tom James, will also be speaking at the conference, she becomes even more determined to make a splash and remind the world of her political prowess.

Of course, as with any episode of Veep, things don't go exactly as planned. Selina's attempts to make a big statement at the conference end up being overshadowed by Tom, and she's left feeling humiliated once again.

As the episode comes to a close, we see Selina back in her hotel room, still grappling with the fact that her days as a political powerhouse may be behind her. But there's a glimmer of hope in her eyes, and it's clear that she's not quite ready to give up the fight just yet.

Overall, "Omaha" is a hilarious and poignant start to the sixth season of Veep. The episode allows us to see Selina in a new light, as she navigates life outside of politics and tries to come to terms with her own legacy.
