In episode 2 of We Never Learn - BOKUBEN titled "A Fish Is to Water As a Genius Is to X," we see the continuation of the story of Nariyuki Yuiga, a tutor who takes on the challenge of helping three highly intelligent students with their studies. The episode starts with Nariyuki helping Rizu Ogata, one of his students who is struggling with English, to get better at the subject by taking her out fishing. Nariyuki believes that if she can understand the logic and structure of fishing, then she can understand the logic and structure of English.

Throughout the episode, we see Nariyuki applying a similar logic to the other two students as well. He takes Fumino Furuhashi, who is weak in maths, to a planetarium and relates her struggles with maths to the formation of celestial bodies. Similarly, he takes Uruka Takemoto, who is struggling with history, to a museum and relates the subject to the stories behind the artefacts on display.

As the episode progresses, we see the three students gradually developing a deeper appreciation and understanding of the subjects they are studying. We also get to know more about the characters and their backgrounds. Fumino, for instance, is an exceptional writer but struggles with maths because it involves thinking in a different way. Rizu, on the other hand, is a genius in science but struggles with humanities because she is not used to thinking in non-logical ways.

Towards the end of the episode, we see Nariyuki's efforts bearing fruit as the three students start to make significant improvements in their weak subjects. However, as they leave the planetarium and head back to the school, they come across a difficult question that challenges their newfound understanding of maths.

The episode ends on a cliffhanger with the three students struggling to solve the question and Nariyuki stepping in to help them. We are left wondering what solution he comes up with and what new insights he imparts to his students.

Overall, episode 2 of We Never Learn - BOKUBEN is an engaging and entertaining continuation of the series. It showcases the struggles and triumphs of the characters in a relatable and accessible way, while also highlighting the importance of effective teaching and mentorship. The episode leaves us eagerly anticipating the next instalment in the series.
