In Wellington Paranormal season 2 episode 7, the team at the Wellington police station's paranormal unit are in for a festive treat. It's the Christmas special, and they'll be delving into some mysterious happenings in the build-up to the big day.
As usual, we'll be following Officers Minogue and O'Leary, two of the most inept cops on the force, as they investigate strange occurrences around the city. But this time, they'll have some added help in the form of Sergeant Maaka, who is filling in for their boss, Agent Smith.
The episode opens with the trio investigating a local department store after reports of an unusual presence in the toy section. Armed with their trusty ghost-detection equipment and a healthy dose of skepticism, they begin to explore the store's nooks and crannies. Along the way, they encounter a rather creepy-looking Santa Claus and some particularly disturbing toys, including a stuffed unicorn that seems to be alive.
As they dig deeper, they discover that the store's manager has been using some less-than-savory tactics to boost sales, including summoning an ancient pagan deity. Of course, this only leads to more chaos, as the deity takes a liking to O'Leary and decides to possess her for a bit. The team's attempts to exorcise the entity are less than successful, and even Santa gets in on the action.
After dealing with the department store shenanigans, the team moves on to investigate another case involving a series of break-ins at various homes around the city. They soon discover that the culprit is none other than Krampus, a Santa-like figure from German folklore who punishes naughty children. But instead of just doling out coal and switches, Krampus has been stealing presents and causing havoc.
The team's attempts to apprehend Krampus don't go quite as planned, and they end up in a chase through the city streets. But just when it seems like all is lost, the real Santa Claus swoops in to save the day. After a few moments of confusion, the team realizes that they're dealing with the real deal - and not just some creepy guy in a red suit.
With Santa's help, the team is able to apprehend Krampus and restore peace to the city. But the holiday fun isn't over yet - the episode ends with the team enjoying some well-deserved eggnog and a few rounds of caroling. And of course, there's a surprise visit from a certain jolly old elf himself.
Overall, the Christmas special is a fun and festive romp through the world of paranormal investigations. Fans of the show will appreciate the usual blend of humor and horror, and newcomers will find plenty to enjoy as well. The episode perfectly captures the spirit of the season, while still staying true to the show's quirky and irreverent tone. Whether you're a diehard fan or just looking for something to get you in the holiday spirit, Wellington Paranormal's Christmas special is a must-watch.
