Wireless is a 2020 Quibi series that follows the story of a young college student named Andy played by Tye Sheridan. The show's premise revolves around Andy's decision to drive across the country to his hometown of Bozeman, Montana from California, but things don't go according to plan as he finds himself stranded in the middle of nowhere with no food or water.

The series is directed by Zach Wechter, who does a fantastic job of keeping the suspense high throughout the entire runtime. Through split-screen action, viewers get to see two different timelines unfold; the present situation of Andy stranded in the middle of nowhere struggling to survive and his past interactions with friends and family leading up to the road trip.

What sets Wireless apart from other survival shows is its use of technology. The show explores how heavily dependent we are on our devices in today's world and how they often dictate our actions. Andy's reliance on his phone for directions and communication ultimately leads him down a dangerous path that leaves him without any help.

As Andy's situation worsens, the audience sees the main themes of the series come to light. Wireless tackles the issues of social isolation, the consequences of technology addiction, and the importance of human connection. The show demonstrates how disconnected we are from the world around us and how we often miss out on crucial moments due to our devices.

The series also features an exceptional supporting cast, including Andie MacDowell, who plays Andy's mother, and Lukas Gage, who plays his best friend. MacDowell delivers a heartbreaking performance as a mother who is desperately trying to connect with her son but struggles to do so due to their lack of communication. Gage brings his A-game as the best friend who tries to help Andy through his problems, but like many of us, is helpless due to distance.

The series is also very visually pleasing, with stunning cinematography and an atmospheric soundtrack that sets the mood for each scene. This, along with the high stakes and unpredictable nature of the story, makes for an exciting and engrossing viewing experience.

Overall, Wireless is an impressive feat of storytelling that tackles relevant issues in a unique and suspenseful way. The series keeps the audience on the edge of their seats while leading them on a journey of self-reflection. It is a perfect representation of the type of quality content that Quibi sought to create and is a must-watch for anyone looking for something new and different.
