Ep 2. New Beginnings

In Yellowstone (2018) season 2 episode 2, named "New Beginnings," we see the Dutton family adjusting to changes brought about by recent events. John Dutton's grandson Tate has been returned to the ranch after being kidnapped, and his daughter Beth is recovering from a brutal attack. Meanwhile, John's son Kayce is trying to balance his new role as Livestock Commissioner with his loyalty to his family and their way of life.

One of the most intriguing plotlines in this episode is the return of Thomas Rainwater, the leader of a neighboring Native American tribe who has been a thorn in the Duttons' side. Rainwater has some surprising news for John, which threatens to upend the balance of power in the area. It's a clever twist that once again highlights the intricate web of relationships and conflicts that makes Yellowstone such an engrossing show.

As always, the show is elevated by the performances of its talented cast. Kevin Costner is a commanding presence as John Dutton, portraying a man who's fiercely protective of his family and their land. Wes Bentley gives a standout performance as Jamie Dutton, the family's self-destructive attorney. And Kelly Reilly is mesmerizing as Beth, a woman who's as ruthless as she is damaged.

Overall, "New Beginnings" is a strong episode that sets up several intriguing plotlines. Viewers who enjoyed the first season of Yellowstone will find much to enjoy here, and newcomers to the series will quickly get caught up in the intricate web of relationships and conflicts that makes the show so addictive.
