The first subject is Spurlock himself. He goes over how he came to grow his signature mustache and what the mustache has meant to his career. He later agrees to have the iconic facial hair clipped off, and they show the upset reaction of his son. They also follow the career of Jack Passion. Passion is the only American to ever win first place at the German Beard and Moustache Championships. They follow him getting ready for participation in the contest. Passion comes across as very over confident and somewhat unlikable. He identifies that his belief that a man's natural state is to be bearded. He says that he is a real man, and clean-shaven men are just boys in comparison
We also meet pro wrestling superstar, Daivari. On television he portrays an angry middle eastern man, but he does so with a well-shaven chest and body. Daivari explains the routine that he has to go through each day before performing. He has to shave and clip every part of his body. He explains that it is unacceptable in the world of wrestling to be hairy. We even get to witness fellow wrestler Colt Cabana shave the hair off of Daivari's back. The last character that is introduced is Ricky Manchanda. He is a well-known fashion buyer, and he is the anti-Jack Passion. He thinks that the proper grooming includes being clean shaven and perfectly coifed. He uses multiple accessories, and it takes him 90 minutes to get ready each day.
