Monsters Inc is a movie in the form of computer animation. It is a comedy adventure film that was directed by Peter Docter and released by Walt Disney Pictures. This movie is also the fourth movie produced by Pixar Animation Studios. In the movie tow monsters named James Sullivan (Sulley) and the one eyed assistant Mike Wazowski work for the company Mosters Inc. They are assigned to generate to generate the city power supply and also scare children. However the two monsters are frightened themselves about being contaminated by children. As a result, the Monsters feel out of place once they enter Monstropolis. This movie first came out in 2001 and got negative publicity due to lawsuits filed against the makers of the film. However the movie grossed over $500 million worldwide and was released in 3D in the year 2012.
The premise of this story is that a group of monsters work for a company and are assigned to collect scrams by invading the homes of children. They usually enter the child's home via closet portal. However the monsters begin to have fears of doing this task because they believe that the children are toxic. Over the course of the film, the monsters realize that scaring the children is not beneficial and therefore decide to change their strategy and tasks. They also find out that children are not toxic and are therefore safe. In the end the monsters decide to entertain children instead of scaring them.
This film was among the more successful movies in recent years. It grossed over $500 million and therefore was very profitable. All over the world, the movie grossed well over $100 million. It was also the sixth highest grossing movie in the world and the fifth in all of North America. Monsters Inc was also the second highest grossing animated film of all time. The critical reception of Monsters Inc was overwhelmingly positive as 95% of critics had nothing but praise for the movie. It scored high with all of the major critic sites and was highly regarded by most renowned movie critics. Monsters Inc also got considerable accolades and awards as it was nominated as one of AFI's top animated films of all time. With all of these factors in mind, Monsters Inc has become among the finest films to ever be released. Both fans of animated films and general audiences alike will appreciate the quality of this film due to its pacing, humor and interesting storyline.
More than a decade ago, Pixar introduced us to the world of "Monsters, Inc." and taught us a few things about the value of laughter, both as a power source for monsters and as a source for a successful animated film. Now Pixar is giving us another "Monsters" movie, but despite it coming ten years later, it will actually be a prequel.
