ParaNorman

One of the movies that came out in 2012 was a film called ParaNorman. This is a 3D animated comedy horror movies that was produced by Laika and distributed by Focus Features. The movie was directed by Sam Fell and Chris Buler. It was also produced by Travis Knight and Arianne Sutner. This was one of the various animation movies that is quite popular among many audiences. It features a rather unique and intriguing storyline.

The movie is about a boy named Norman who lives in a small New England town. Over time he begins to interact with the dead including his now deceased grandmother. He is able to interact with numerous dead people and therefore most people don't believe him. Due to his unusual ability to interact with the dead, his family alienates him and ignores his statements of being able to interact with the dead. Norman is also bullied at school and therefore has difficulty letting people know about the value of his abilities. However he meets up with an obese boy at school who is also bullied. After a while the obese boy and Norman's sister Courtney begin to believe in his abilities and tell the rest of the family about it. A girl named Aggie is calmed down by Norman and they are both able to let the apparitions of zombies fade way, bringing peace to the town again. Norman is regarded as a hero and then watches a movie with is family.

ParaNorman received a very good and positive critical response. Most reviewers gave the movie an 87% approval rating and other reviewers gave the movie a 7 out of 10 on a 10 point scale. The movie was known to be very entertaining, as well as funny and scary. The movie did okay at the box office as it grossed over $91 million. It premiered at number 2 behind The Dark Knight Rises. It was number 3 behind the Expendables 2 and The Bourne Legacy in North America alone.

Due to it being an animated film, the movie ParaNorman will appeal to general audiences. As a result it is accessible to just about every age demographic and therefore be widely seen.
