The Hills Have Eyes is a 2006 horror film that follows the story of a family on a road trip to California. The Carter family, led by patriarch Bob (Ted Levine) and his wife Ethel (Kathleen Quinlan), are traveling in a trailer across the desert with their adult children, Brenda (Emilie de Ravin), Bobby (Dan Byrd), and Lynn (Vinessa Shaw), along with their German Shepherd, Beauty.

As they drive through a remote stretch of the New Mexico desert, they unwittingly stumble upon a group of mutant cannibals who live in the hills. The vicious and deformed group, who has resorted to inbreeding to survive, sees the Carter family as easy prey and attacks them mercilessly.

The Carter family soon find themselves fighting for their lives as they are targeted by the bloodthirsty mutants. The group is led by a man named Papa Jupiter (Billy Drago), who has a particular hatred for outsiders and takes pleasure in torturing and murdering them. The family’s only hope is to band together and fight back against their attackers.

As the gruesome attacks continue, the Carter family must do everything in their power to survive the brutal and horrifying ordeal. With the odds stacked against them, they must use their wits and sheer determination to escape the hills and the psychotic mutants that dwell within.

The Hills Have Eyes is a terrifying journey into the heart of darkness, where the primal instincts of survival and the will to survive are put to the ultimate test. With intense action, suspense, and gore, this horror film is not for the weak-hearted.

Directed by Alexandre Aja, The Hills Have Eyes is a remake of the 1977 film of the same name, originally directed by Wes Craven. The 2006 adaptation features a new and horrifying take on the story, with updated and more realistic special effects that add to the fear factor.

The movie is praised for its excellent performances, particularly by Ted Levine and Kathleen Quinlan, who bring depth and humanity to their characters. Dan Byrd, Emilie de Ravin, and Vinessa Shaw also deliver convincing performances as the terrorized members of the Carter family.

The film also features a chilling soundtrack, composed by Tomandandy, that heightens the tension and terror of the story. The eerie music creates an atmosphere of dread and unease that permeates throughout the movie.

Overall, The Hills Have Eyes is a gripping and harrowing tale of survival in the face of unimaginable terror. It's a must-watch for horror fans who enjoy intense action and brutal gore. However, viewers should be warned that the movie contains disturbing content and is not for the faint of heart.

The Hills Have Eyes is a 2006 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 47 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.4 and a MetaScore of 52.
