Ep 3. Super Friends

In season 3 episode 3 of Comic Book Men, titled "Super Friends," the gang at Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash comic book store continue their love affair with all things comic book related. This episode features several different storylines that intersect throughout the episode, all revolving around the idea of superheroes and their friends.

One storyline revolves around Walt Flanagan, the manager of the store. Walt has always been a big fan of Batman and has a tattoo of the superhero on his leg. In this episode, Walt gets the chance to meet Kevin Conroy, the actor who voiced Batman in the popular 1990s animated series. Walt is beside himself with excitement and tries to play it cool when Conroy comes into the store to sign autographs. However, his enthusiasm gets the better of him when he starts asking Conroy all kinds of questions about his time playing the Caped Crusader.

Another storyline involves the show's resident comic book expert, Mike Zapcic. Mike is a big fan of the X-Men, particularly the characters Cyclops and Nightcrawler. In this episode, Mike meets former X-Men artist Bob McLeod, who drew several of the classic X-Men storylines in the 1980s. Mike is thrilled to meet McLeod and gets his sketchbook signed. However, he's disappointed when McLeod doesn't draw a sketch of his favorite characters. Mike spends the rest of the episode trying to get McLeod to draw him the perfect Cyclops and Nightcrawler sketch.

Meanwhile, Bryan Johnson, one of the store's employees, is trying to sell a rare comic book featuring the first appearance of Spider-Man. He meets with a potential buyer and the two haggle over the price of the book. However, the buyer starts to get suspicious when he realizes that the book may not be in as good of condition as Bryan is claiming. The negotiations come to a tense standstill as the buyer threatens to walk away from the deal.

Finally, Ming Chen, another employee at the store, has a run-in with actor Lou Ferrigno, who played the Incredible Hulk in the 1970s TV series. Ming is trying to score an autograph from Ferrigno, but the actor is in a bad mood and refuses to sign. Ming's persistence pays off in the end, though, when he ends up getting his autograph and a chance to chat with Ferrigno about his time playing the Hulk.

Throughout the episode, the gang discusses their favorite superhero teams, from the Justice League to the Avengers. They debate which characters are the most powerful and who would win in a fight between different heroes. The episode is a fun-filled celebration of all things superhero - a perfect watch for any comic book fan.
