Ep 3. The Tough Brets

Bret's past comes back to haunt him in Flight of the Conchords season 2 episode 3, titled "The Tough Brets." The episode starts with the duo trying to book a gig. Along the way, we're treated to some hilarious moments involving Bret's former life as a "tough guy." We see him reluctantly take part in a violent game of rugby, and we learn that his tough exterior was all a façade - he was actually a sensitive artist at heart.

Despite the comedic moments, the episode also tackles some serious themes. We see how difficult it can be to break away from a toxic environment, and how hard it is to start over in a new place. We also see how important it is to have a supportive friend by your side.
