Frank trains a new female employee at the diner, while trying to track down a former employee who stole money. Meanwhile, Fiona deals with the consequences of sleeping with her boss and struggles to find a new job. Lip is tasked with mentoring a young boy from a rough neighborhood, but finds it difficult to connect with him. Ian takes Mickey's son Yevgeny home for the first time, and struggles to adjust to his new role as a father figure. Debbie tries to balance school, work, and taking care of her newborn while dealing with a difficult breakup. Carl starts to question his decision to join the military and contemplates his future.
