In the pilot episode of the Showtime series Web Therapy titled "An Old Flame," Fiona Wallice, a narcissistic and unconventional therapist, introduces her new form of online counseling to her former flame, Jerome Sokoloff. Fiona explains how she has developed a new technique for therapy sessions that only allows for three-minute video chats with her clients. Fiona believes this method will create an efficient and time-saving approach to therapy, but her clients are not convinced.

Jerome is hesitant but willing to give it a try. Fiona tries to maintain her professional relationship with Jerome while simultaneously attempting to rekindle their past romance. However, Jerome is quick to remind her that their relationship ended for a reason and that he's only there for therapy.

Throughout the video session, Fiona remains abrasive and focused on collecting payment for her services while Jerome tries to express his concerns about their past relationship. Fiona, in her usual manner, dismisses Jerome's concerns and redirects the conversation back to herself and her accomplishments.

Meanwhile, Fiona's husband, Kip Wallice, is continuously interrupted by Fiona during his workday, as she tries to involve him in her new business idea. Their conversation escalates into an argument, leading to Kip storming out of their house and leaving Fiona feeling unsupported.

After her discouraging session with Jerome, Fiona meets with her colleague, Gina Spinks, who is also skeptical of Fiona's new therapy method. Gina informs Fiona that she has received a new patient who is struggling with a severe eating disorder and begs Fiona for any advice or guidance. Fiona, nonchalantly dismisses Gina's concerns and suggests that Gina refers the patient to a clinic.

On her way home, Fiona encounters another one of her clients, Richard Pratt, who runs a charity organization and is seeming to spiral out of control. Richard is seeking Fiona's guidance but, as usual, Fiona remains more concerned with her own personal gain. Fiona reminds Richard that she would be happy to donate to his charity if he would fly her to his next benefit in Japan, in an attempt to indirectly trade her services for personal gains.

The episode concludes with Fiona returning home to discover that her husband has left and with Jerome calling to cancel his ongoing therapy sessions with Fiona. Fiona's new therapy method may save time, but it is not proving to have many benefits for her personal life.

In conclusion, the first episode of Web Therapy titled "An Old Flame" sets the tone of the series by introducing the character of Fiona Wallice, a self-centered, but innovative therapist. The episode explores her new online counseling method and how her narcissistic tendencies impact her personal life and professional relationships. It also establishes Fiona's tendency to prioritize personal gain over the well-being of her clients, setting the stage for future conflicts and personal challenges.
