The entire world knows that we are expecting the State of California to break off from the main land at any time. The made for television miniseries, 10.5: Apocalypse shows us just how it might happen. The science that is demonstrated in this mini-series event could very well be the events that lead to the Earth's continental plates moving again across the globe. The special effects appear very realistic, and the science behind the story line is solid.
