Vendetta is a 2015 action-thriller movie directed by the legendary Jen Soska and Sylvia Soska, also known as the Twisted Twins. The movie follows the journey of detective Mason Danvers (Dean Cain) who is determined to take down the criminal organization responsible for the brutal murder of his wife. In his relentless pursuit of justice, Danvers gets himself arrested for breaking into the house of the organization's leader, Victor Abbate (Paul Wight). In prison, Danvers is caught in a power struggle between Abbate and his nemesis, the ruthless and sadistic Conor (Michael Eklund) who controls the prison with his gang of loyal followers. With no backup and no way out, Danvers has to fight his way through the prison and take down Abbate and Conor to avenge his wife's death.

The movie opens with a brutal scene in which Danvers' wife is killed by Abbate's henchmen. The scene sets the tone for the rest of the movie as Danvers' grief and anger drive him to seek vengeance for his wife's death. As Danvers makes his way to Abbate's mansion to exact his revenge, he is caught by the police and sentenced to prison for breaking and entering. The prison setting is perfect for a gritty action movie, and the Soska sisters make the most of it. The prison is ruled by Conor, a sociopath who takes pleasure in torturing and killing other prisoners. He commands a gang of loyal followers who do his bidding without question. Danvers becomes a thorn in Conor's side when he refuses to submit to his authority and stands up to him in a fight. Conor takes it personally and makes Danvers his top target.

The action scenes in Vendetta are well choreographed and brutal. Dean Cain, who is known for his role as Superman in the TV series "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman", delivers a solid performance as a tough cop who is pushed to his limits. He is convincing in the fight scenes and shows his range as an actor in the emotional scenes. Paul Wight, who is better known as WWE wrestler The Big Show, makes a good villain as Abbate. He is imposing and intimidating, but also has a softer side when it comes to his family. Michael Eklund steals the show as Conor. He is a despicable character who revels in his own cruelty, but is also vulnerable and has a tragic backstory that makes him somewhat sympathetic.

Apart from the action, Vendetta also has some interesting themes and subplots. The movie touches on the corruption in the prison system and the abuse of power by those in authority. It also explores the concept of vengeance and how it can consume a person and turn them into a monster. The relationship between Danvers and a fellow prisoner named Annabelle (Kyra Zagorsky) adds some depth to the story and shows another side of Danvers' character.

Overall, Vendetta is a solid action-thriller that delivers on its promise of violence and revenge. The Soska sisters infuse the movie with their trademark style and create a tense and gritty atmosphere that keeps the audience engaged. The performances by the three leads are strong and the action scenes are well executed. Vendetta may not break any new ground in the genre, but it is a satisfying and entertaining movie that will please fans of action movies.

Vendetta is a 2015 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.7.
