The film entitled Amacord is about the life and experiences of Titta growing up in the village of Bogo alongside other characters. The film begins when a young lady is outside putting clothes on a drying line. She sees and watches puffballs as they float in the air and as the wind carries them around. Meanwhile the rest of the villagers are also happy to see the puffballs. Some young men try to catch the puffballs as they float.
A young man known as Giudizio who is the village clown says poems about the beauty of spring. Everyone in Bogo is busy preparing for the night. Finally, at nightfall they assemble at the village square to celebrate. While there, Titta gets into an argument with Aurelio. Aurelio’s wife Miranda comes to defend her husband and makes peace.
Giudizio continues entertaining people with his poems. Zeus who is the schoolmaster, gathers Titta and her schoolmates and takes a class photograph.
Titta and his friends decide to go after Gradisca as she takes a strole alone. They lost track of her and make their way to a nearby shop. Lallo and Juan spot a carriage full of harlots making its way to the nearby bordello. The news is immediately spread to inform all the village men.
The federative arrives the village square with so much ambience. He is closely followed by the schoolmaster and her colleagues. Lallo goes and joins the march. Ciccio and his fiancé Aldina approach Mussolini and he blesses them. An unknown person shoots and destroys the gramophone as it plays a beautiful song. Everyone suspects Aurelio is responsible. They question him and later force him to drink castor oil. Aurelio limps all the way home.
Titta has prospects of winning the annual car race. As winter approaches Titta falls sick. His mother takes care of him but also falls sick after. Miranda dies, and Titta leaves Bogo without telling anyone.
