Apache Territory is a classic 1958 western film that tells the story of government agent John Forsythe, played by Rory Calhoun, who is sent to the Arizona Territory to investigate a series of raids and massacres perpetrated by the Apaches. His mission is to locate the stronghold of the Apache chief, Tazlure, and bring him to justice.

The movie begins with a group of settlers being attacked by Apaches, leaving only one survivor, a woman named Ann Duverall, played by Barbara Bates. Forsythe meets Ann while she is burying her family and offers to take her to safety. Along the way, they meet up with other characters who are also heading west, including a gambler named Gentry, played by Frank DeKova, and a former Confederate soldier named Captain Walsh, played by John Dehner.

As the group travels deeper into Apache territory, they encounter various challenges and obstacles, including a group of renegade Apaches who are led by an even more ruthless leader named Ulzana. After narrowly escaping an ambush by Ulzana and his men, Forsythe learns from a friendly Apache chief named Chato that Tazlure's stronghold is located in a remote canyon.

With the help of Chato and his men, Forsythe and his group travel to the canyon and launch a daring attack on Tazlure's stronghold. In the ensuing battle, Tazlure is killed and his men are defeated. Forsythe returns to civilization with Ann and the others, having successfully completed his mission.

The movie is notable for its stunning location shots of the Arizona desert, which are captured in vivid Technicolor. The rugged terrain and harsh conditions faced by the characters give the film a gritty, realistic feel. The performances are also strong, with Calhoun delivering a commanding turn as the tough and capable government agent. Bates brings a sense of vulnerability and pathos to her role as the lone survivor of an Apache attack, while Dehner brings a sense of world-weary experience and a sort of grim determination to his part as the former Confederate soldier.

Overall, Apache Territory is a worthwhile entry in the classic Western genre. It features solid performances, breathtaking cinematography, and a well-crafted screenplay that keeps the action moving along at a brisk pace. While it may not break any new ground in terms of plot or characters, the film remains a compelling and entertaining example of its genre.

Apache Territory is a 1958 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 12 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.7.
