He starts to look for excitement, and to what he thinks his life should be like. Just as he's looking for excitement he meets a woman named Beatrice; on the streets she's called B. Monkey. Beatrice is everything that Alan is not, where he is very conservative, she's young and high strung and adventurous. Beatrice is adventurous spirited and very ready to show Alan the other side of London's night life.
