Bangaaru Bhoomi is an Indian Telugu-language drama film from 1982 directed by P. Chandrasekhara Reddy. The film stars Krishna Ghattamaneni, Sridevi, and Gummadi in lead roles. It is a classic tale of love, sacrifice, and patriotism all rolled into one. Krishna (Krishna Ghattamaneni) is a young man who is passionate about serving his country. His ultimate goal is to become a doctor and serve people who couldn't afford medical care. Krishna hails from a poor family, where his father is a farmer and his mother is a homemaker. Despite several hardships, Krishna's parents support him in fulfilling his dream. On the other hand, Sridevi (Sridevi), a young girl from a rich family, falls in love with Krishna at first sight. She was impressed with his simplicity and his kind-hearted nature. She realizes that Krishna is different from the other men she has come across in her life. As their love story starts to blossom, certain unfortunate events lead to a misunderstanding between the two of them, resulting in their separation. Krishna sets out to fulfill his ambition to become a doctor by studying hard and getting into a Medical College. Meanwhile, Sridevi's father has been planning her marriage to another man, which she reluctantly agrees to as her father's health is deteriorating, and she doesn't want to put any more strain on him. Krishna and Sridevi, who still have feelings for each other, struggle with their emotions, but their love for their country is more important than their love for each other. In the meantime, a group of terrorists have been collecting arms to assassinate a politician who is supportive of the country's development. Krishna learns of their plan and spearheads an initiative to stop the terrorists from carrying out their plan. He and his friends successfully intervene and foil the plan. This strengthens Krishna's resolve towards his country and reinforces his belief that honesty will always win over evil. Krishna comes across a disease that has been spreading across the region and claims many lives. As he does not have enough resources to tackle it, he sets out to the capital city to meet the Chief Minister (Gummadi). There he pleads with the Chief Minister to provide the necessary medication to prevent the disease from spreading further. The Chief Minister impressed with Krishna's dedication and selflessness, agrees to Krishna's request. The film reaches its climax as the Chief Minister announces that he is opening up a Medical College in the same town where Krishna hails from, in honor of his contribution to the community. The film ends on a happy note as Krishna and Sridevi are reunited, and both of them head back to their town to serve their country. Overall, Bangaaru Bhoomi is a heartwarming story that showcases the power of selflessness, patriotism, and sacrifice. The film features excellent performances by Krishna Ghattamaneni and Sridevi, and the music by Chakravarthy adds to the film's charm. It is a well-crafted film with a positive message that will resonate with audiences long after they watch it.
