The movie Being Human starts off showing a man and his family being captured by Vikings. Before the family is separated the mother tells the father not to lose the children. The next scene moves to Ancient Rome where it shows the man, Hector, who is a slave. He falls in love with another slave but does not forget the family that he was taken from.

The next scene shows Hector as a Scottish crusader who is heading home to his children. Hector finds a woman to love but still wants to head home to his own children. Hector is a Portuguese man in the next scene where he is shipwrecked. He watches as his wife is carried out to sea. In the fifth and final part of the movie Hector is a man living in New York City in the modern time. He finds his wife and her new husband but remembers her from a past life. They are trying to make do in this new life and Hector seems to be the only one to realize and remember his past lives.
