In The Sixth Man, protagonist Kenny Tyler fights to earn confidence in his basketball ability while facing his team mates, a love interest, and an unexpected problem. Despite the amount of humor, which the movie is highly appraised for, this film still manages to keep a dramatic plotline, and serious message to be wrapped up in the end. The entirety of the film is generally clean, safe, and child friendly, for families who would want to watch this with their children. An occasional adult humor is added, so a note to those who wish to avoid those sort of jokes if the little ones may be too young, but they’re also deeply concealed, and only occur a minor amount of times through the duration of the film. Moreover, parents may want to watch out for the subject of death, which is met in this film in a non violent, but still definite manner.
